How to Give Yourself a Bright, White Smile Before the New Years

New year, new teeth, right? Well, Dental Associates of Connecticut is here to make sure you have a bright, white smile before the new year. Follow these steps and everyone will be amazed by your smile in 2017.

Brush after every meal

this can be hard, especially if you’re at work during one of your meals, but if you have the chance, brushing after every meal will help reduce staining from food and drinks. If you can’t brush your teeth, at least try rinsing your mouth out with water.

Use Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide

when you combine the two of these, they make a great homemade whitening paste. The Hydrogen Peroxide also aids in removing germs and bacteria in your mouth. However, you need to make sure the paste is runny, because if it’s too rough it can actually remove enamel.

Try Oil Pulling

oil pulling is becoming a new trend that people are trying out. When trying this method, use 1 to 2 tablespoons and gently swish for 10 to 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water and brush teeth normally.

Eat strawberries

yes, you read that right, strawberries. Not only does it have a high percentage of folate, but it actually naturally exfoliates and cleans your teeth as well.

Don’t brush your teeth too hard

if you brush your teeth too hard, especially when you don’t have the right toothbrush to use, you could strip away enamel and cause your gums to recede.

Charcoal actually helps

this is another new trend people have been talking about. All you have to do is put some on your toothbrush and brush your teeth for 5 minutes and thoroughly rinse. This process draws out stains and imperfections on your teeth; just don’t be alarmed of your black smile during the process!
