Fluoride Treatments For Children’s Teeth
Bacteria and sugars can attack teeth and cause decay. Fluoride can help prevent and even reverse decay by making the tooth more resistant to the acids found in plaque.
Fluoride is found naturally in foods and water. When teeth don’t receive enough fluoride through everyday diet and the use of fluoridated toothpaste, your dentist can apply fluoride directly to your teeth as a gel, foam, or varnish.
When Is Fluoride Most Important?
Infants and children who have primary and secondary teeth coming in need adequate Fluoride exposure. This is typically between ages of 6 months and 16 years.
